I have chosen my first music review to be on a band I just discovered existed.  Haven't heard all their songs yet, but I can safely say, I'm a fan.
Some may recognise the lead singer, Gareth David Lloyd, who played  "Ianto Jones" on Torchwood.  An epic show, that made me cry far too often.  I miss it.  ANYhoo.  I was randoming around on youtube one day, and BAM!  I found Blue Gillespie.  listened to a bit, thought there way no way that quiet, sarcastic, sweet Ianto could make such an epic sound with his voice, but, low and behold, I give you the awesomeness that he brings us, in the form of a progressive metal band, with multiple songs that I just can NOT stop listening to.  The first song I found was "sugarglass"   You should go to their youtube page, where I got this one from.  *go, subscribe! go now!*     (strobe flashing in the vid, be warned)

A fairly heavy song, which suits me just fine.  I was so surprised to learn that this was indeed Gareth singing, I mean, just listen to that!  And the lyrics are wonderful.  I would gladly let my daughter listen to these guys, this is an actually positive message here.   "Stay true to yourself, Recognise your true wealth, Stay true to yourself, Even in the hell you find inside"  That's a great message if you ask me.  On their site they have sugarglass as a single, released in 2010, and i feel it's completely worth getting.
They have also done some slower stuff,  which is also great by me, I love most genres of music, especially if I can sing to it.  I found "Making Sound" and almost died.  Gareth's voice is beautiful in this one.  I couldn't find it on their youtube page, but I found this one.
This is from their 2009 album, "Cave Country Part 2" (obviously.  :P)  It's a slightly more angsty song, ".....I will make sound, I will make poetry, I will be loud,  And you, Won’t listen to me"   The end of the song is a little strained, almost desperate with hurt and anger, (maybe I'm reading too much into it?) but I regard it as one of my faves.  Both of the Cave Country albums appear to be a bit darker in nature, slightly hurt filled, with a few exceptions, (like Bam Bam.  lol.)  Another song I can't get enough of from this album is "the Swamp"  Almost like a dark poetry reading, then a beautifully melodic song.  Look it up, it's worth it.
And from 2008's  "Cave Country Part 1" Bam Bam.  I LOVE this song.  it's a dirty dirty song.  It's frikkin awesome.  Has a great beat, a little bluesy, with some much more metal elements to it.  I get a bit of a giggle listening to it.  "Too many sexy women in the world. Too many sexy ladies that I would do.  Like you and you, your friend to and you"  See?  Awesome.  I am going to recommend these guys to everyone, always.
See these guys?  This Is Gareth David Lloyd, Rhys Bryant, Anthony Clark, and Nick Harrison (credited on their site as a homeless bum.  LMAO)  From the UK, have been together since 2007, and demand you visit their website for more info!  (well, they didn't tell me that personally, I'm just assuming, but wouldn't that be awesome if they did tell me directly?  sigh.  anyhoo.)  I can only really say one more thing about them.  Awesomesauce.  A big, huge, heaping, sparkly bowl of pure Awesomesauce.  Find their albums, or if you're in the UK, go to a show.  Then come tell me about it so I can be jealous of not being able to go myself, and maybe get your own posting on here.  : )
